This year91³Ô¹Ï state amateur baseball tournaments saw a few UJ alumni take MVP honors.

For Class AAA MVP Boya Quichocho it91³Ô¹Ï the fourth time he91³Ô¹Ï earned the top award—the most of any player since 2000.

Danny White, of the Jamestown Tarno Townies(Class A), also took home an MVP honor.

Quichocho91³Ô¹Ï nine-inning gem on the mound on Sunday led the Jamestown Elks to a 4-1 win over the Bismarck Blue Jackets.

Quichocho, who also earned MVP honors in 2010, 2012 and 2014 for the Elks, also had the game-winning hits in the semifinal and championship games. Pitching-wise Sunday, the associate head coach of the 91³Ô¹Ï baseball team, allowed just one run on seven hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Offensively, he went 4-for-11 with three RBI and three runs scored.

White, a former standout for the Blue Jays and Jimmies, earned his first amateur MVP award in helping the Jamestown Tarno Townies claim the Class A crown.

White was dominant on the mound and did damage at the plate.

The left-hander fired a four-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in the Townies’ 2-0 win over Tolna. In nine at bats, White had four hits, including a home run, double, four runs and two RBI in helping the Townies to their first state title since 2012.

Boya and Danny both graduated from 91³Ô¹Ï in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Health & Fitness Administration. Quichocho minored in coaching and White minored in communication.
