DPT Direct Entry

91³Ô¹Ï

Direct Entry offers motivated students a streamlined path to secure early admission into the 91³Ô¹Ï Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. This opportunity is available to incoming freshmen as well as current UJ students who plan to pursue a career in physical therapy. While many Direct Entry DPT students major in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, exercise science, or nursing, applicants from other majors are also encouraged to apply.

Admission Criteria + How to Apply

Interested incoming freshmen must meet the following criteria:

  • Acceptance to the 91³Ô¹Ï
  • High school transcripts showing minimum 3.00 GPA (4.00 scale)

Application Process

  1. Fill out the
  2. Complete the Essential Function Form.
    • The Essential Function Form will appear once you have submitted your Application for Direct Entry, above.
    • Please read the form completely and submit, as this is a binding certification that you meet the requirements of the program at the time of signing.
  3. Submit 2 letters of recommendation from a non-family member.
    • Recommendations can be attached in the Application for Direct Entry, above, or can be emailed directly to riley.spenningsby@uj.edu
  4. Complete an interview.
    • Your interview will be conducted by a 91³Ô¹Ï DPT admissions representative after all documents listed above have been submitted and reviewed.

  • Current UJ student
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
  • Minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.00 (4.00 scale)

  • An interview will be conducted by a 91³Ô¹Ï Doctor of Physical Therapy Program admissions representative after all four documents (Application for Direct Entry, Essential Functions, and two letters of recommendation) as well as official transcripts are submitted.
